It's been said, what gets measured gets done. Or what gets measured matters. When the vision is clear, you have a way of measuring progress. I coached in the NFL for a long time and the "measuring stick" is the SuperBowl. If you don't get there you didn't measure up! If you get there or close it is a powerful motivator. The clearer the "measuring stick" is the more inspiring it is. Everyone knows the exact date, time, location of the game.
I knew what you received when you won it and what it meant to me and my family. Without measuring performance, all the other leadership principles are toothless. What is your measuring stick?
