BRING IT

I grew up as a ballboy for the Dallas Cowboys so this resonates with me because I heard it all myself. "As long as you bring Character!" This was at the Pro Football Hall of Fame Weekend this past summer and I love listening to all the inductee's speeches. I don't care who they are or what team they played or coached for, I just love listening to their stories of how they got there. Former Wide Receiver, Drew Pearson from the Dallas Cowboys just got inducted that weekend and he had some GREAT things to say about his teams and all his teammates, from High School all the way up through the NFL. One thing that really stuck out to me was what he remembered about his former Head Coach, Tom Landry. He said, "Coach Landry had an innovative system of EQUAL OPPORTUNITY as long as you brought Character, as long as you brought Intelligence, as long as you brought Passion, and as long as you brought Talent to the team, you'll get an opportunity to help us win." Drew also said,

"You also taught me this Coach, that RESPECT is EARNED, and not given." There are lots of life lessons packed into those TINY 10-minute talks! Character, Intelligence, Passion, and Talent, that respects the game, and his teammates. That's a good recipe for anyone and everyone in every business or any where in life.
